Site specific manipulation in public space (Lambertushofpassage, Hengelo, NL)
Ten round lamp balls, normally hanging unnoted from the ceiling of this rather desolate shopping passage since 30 years, were being transformed into models of planets of our solar system (from sun via earth via saturn to pluto) by an airbrusher.
On the floor the distances between the real planets are graphically layed out through white
circles made out of foil. Every five minutes, through a loudspeaker system which normally plays loud pop music, the whole passage is filled with a short recording of a text from Alexander Kluge, translated from German into Dutch and read by a radio anchor, well known in the region. The other time the passage remains silent.
